More than 600 sensors are being put in throughout Eire to alert water safety officers when ring buoys are tampered with or go lacking. A brand new digital initiative is being rolled out to make sure ring buoys are ready to avoid wasting lives in Ireland’s waters. Greater than 600 low-price sensors are being put in throughout eight local authorities in Dublin, Laois, Meath, Sligo and Limerick. These sensors are designed to alert water safety officers when ring buoys are tampered with or go missing. The sensors are paired with a cell, map-based platform that has actual-time monitoring, to make sure ring buoys are changed as rapidly as potential. Minister for Rural and Group Improvement Heather Humphreys, TD, mentioned ring buoys are designed to avoid wasting lives and protect people, however vandalism and theft is still "commonplace in each our rural and urban communities".
