The air round you is bursting with radio waves. You realize that you would be able to flip on the AM/FM radio in your automotive and receive dozens of stations. You'll be able to flip on a CB radio and receive forty more. You may flip on a Television and receive quite a few broadcast channels. Cell telephones can ship and obtain lots of of frequencies. And that is simply the tip of the radio spectrum iceberg. Literally tens of thousands of other radio broadcasts and conversations are zipping previous you as you learn this text -- police officers, firefighters, ambulance drivers, paramedics, sanitation staff, house shuttle astronauts, race car drivers, and even babies with their monitors are transmitting radio waves all around you at this very second! A scanner is mainly a radio receiver able to receiving a number of alerts.
